Head of Finance & Accounting

Position Overview
There is no denying the importance of an Accountant to a business. At TRG, you are one of the key players in our very vital department. Your responsibilities are more than just crunching numbers. The Head of Accounting leads the accounting department and manages all accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and internal controls. This role plays a critical part in supporting strategic decision-making and ensuring the integrity of financial data.

Job Description
1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, or other applicable accounting standards.
Conduct a thorough financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for the company.
Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations for business strategies and decision-making.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with various departments to develop realistic and achievable budgets.
Monitor budget performance and forecast future financial outcomes, adjusting strategies as needed.
3. Compliance and Audit Management:
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Coordinate external and internal audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting regulations and ensure the department adheres to these changes.
4. Internal Controls and Risk Management:
Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
Assess financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
5. Tax Planning and Compliance:
Oversee tax planning and compliance, including the preparation and filing of tax returns.
Work with external tax advisors and government agencies to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
6. Process Improvement:
Continuously review and improve accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices and stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies.
7. Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and opportunities for growth.
Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment within the accounting department.
Allocate and delegate tasks effectively, ensuring deadlines are met.
Requirement
Candidates with diverse educational backgrounds are encouraged to apply, as long as they possess the relevant professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent) and/or a degree.
Working experience at IT companies is a plus
Having a Vietnam Chief Accountant certificate is mandatory
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a management or leadership role.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Familiar or experience with Sunsystem account software or ERP systems …. is a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
A proactive and open-minded person with good critical thinking skills
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
Good command of both English (from IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) and Vietnamese
